Healing Breath Qigong is a practice that helps us maintain good health, live longer, aging painlessly, prevent illness, heal naturally, and lightening up our spirit.
Our weekly Qigong classes are led by Sister Steadiness, bringing in a holistic wellbeing practice that incorporates mindfulness, meditation, slow flowing movements, deep rhythmic breathing, and developing a calm meditative state of mind.
About the teacher
Sister Steadiness studied Chinese Medicine in Canada and learned Qigong and Tai Chi with many famous teachers in China. She worked as a Chinese Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Qigong instructor in Canada.
One day waiting at a red traffic light, a car ran into her back, paralysing her. She could not move her body, not even to hold a pencil to write. Nonetheless, Sister Steadiness with her resilience, strong mind, and belief in self-healing, used Qigong and Tai Chi, nutritious eating and a positive mind to heal herself without any medication.
Miraculously, from the inner strength of mind that guided her, with great patience and diligence, she was able to heal naturally. The Shakyamuni Buddha teaches that we can be our own teacher, our own healer.
After curing herself, Sister ordained as a Buddhist nun under Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Through her years of meditation practices, Sister has been creating new Qigong movements, combined with what she has learnt. She named this practice ‘Healing Breath Qigong’.
