Spring
Although evening and night time temperatures remain cool, usually by the middle of March daytime temperatures begin to creep up to the low twenties. Predominantly the days are sun filled, with only a pleasant fresh breeze to remind you that it isn't summer quite yet!
Until May begins in earnest the region still sees the occasional cooler day and the odd thunderstorm and showers but by the end of May the temperatures start rising dramatically.
Summer
June heralds the start of summer proper and summers in Le Marche are hot and dry, rain becomes a rare occurrence until October time. Summer in Le Marche is glorious, with long days of uninterrupted sunshine with only the occasional summer storm. Storms are spectacular and lengthy but more often than not these occur without rain. Any appearance of bad weather is very short lived. Spend lazy days by the lake or head for the beach.
Autumn
Le Marche autumns are warm and colourful. The weather remains good with daytime temperatures in the twenties well into November and sometimes even early December. The surrounding countryside and woodland becomes a painter's paradise, decked with hues of warm gold with varying shades of russet, yellow and red. The sunsets at the end of summer and early autumn have to be seen to be believed.
Winter
The evidence of the first snows can begin to appear on the mountain peaks as early as December and as winter deepens gradually the snow falls at lower and lower altitudes. An oddity of the region is the low cloud or fogs, often hilltop towns appear eerily suspended as the dense mist covers their surrounding valleys leaving only the town itself visible. Snow on the lower lying areas often doesn't last long but snow chains are recommended if you intend travelling in the mountains at this time.
