Day-long Retreat with venerable Ajahn Jamnian

June 25, 2016 @ 9:00 am - June 26, 2016 @ 6:00 pm

Update: The Saturday is now full. Limited seats are available on Sunday.

Ajahn Jamnian is one of the most highly revered meditation masters in the Theravada tradition. He is known throughout the world for his fierce wisdom and soothing compassion, infectious laughter and uncanny knack for conveying the Buddha’s teachings directly from the Pali Suttas. Ajahn Jamnian teaches many methods of vipassana meditation. Each focuses on seeing and understanding the impersonal nature of the mind and body, which are constantly changing, unsatisfactory, and empty of self. He encourages continuous investigation of desire, aversion, and delusion in the mind. “Every situation that arises is an opportunity to practice insight so we can steer ourselves back to the Middle Path.” Ajahn Jamnian sees meditation “as a living practice in which the development of insight must pervade every aspect of life, not just during hours devoted to formal meditation”.

It is an honour for Metta Centre to host Ajahn Jamnian’s first visit to Australia, along with his close disciples, and assist in arranging his schedule to give teachings in various Buddhist Centres in Sydney.

About the retreat

Ajahn Jamnian will offer teachings based on the Four Noble Truths, the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, and the Noble Eight Fold Path as taught by the Buddha. Using a rare touch and knowing for the listeners, this highly respected Thai Forest monk will share profound truths on the nature of reality and his unique path to discovering the quickest way to freedom. Teachers and students will delight in the lighthearted and loving presence of this master.
