The Dance of Zouk

Our instructors Alise Kha and Matthew Voelker will guide participants in this unique Zouk dance and Buddhism workshop, using movement and dance to connect people with their body, mind and heart, and with each other. All levels including beginners are welcome. All levels of fitness are welcome.

Wear: comfortable clothes or active wear & comfortable shoes or walking shoes.

Bring: bottle of water. Towel or spare shirt if you get sweaty easily.

About the Instructors:

Alise Kha has been dancing Zouk for 4 years. She loves incorporating movement, dance and yoga with her spiritual practices. Alise has been a practising Buddhist for many years, having helped various Buddhist organisations over the years.

Matthew Voelker has been dancing hip pop, freestyle and body movements for 12 years. He started dancing Zouk 6 years ago. Currently, Matthew teaches Zouk in Canberra and has performed at various locations in both Canberra and Sydney. His teachings aim to improve students’ abilities to understand their body and minds through connection and bringing people together in Zouk.

Both instructors performed their original dance at the recent Metta Festival in Bankstown.
