Beloved friends, we often look for peace in a faraway place, thinking it is a treasure hidden behind high walls or found only in perfect silence. But the true seal of the practice is not a secret held by a few; it is a gift that belongs to every human being who knows how to breathe mindfully. In our time together, we will simply sit and look deeply into the miracle of our own presence. We will discover that the air does not ask who we are before it offers us life, and the earth does not ask our name before it supports our steps.
Whether we are in a quiet hall or a busy street, the practice is the same: it is the art of coming home to the present moment. We will explore how to cultivate the beautiful seeds of mindfulness in the soil of our daily lives, remembering that the capacity to transform our suffering into flowers of understanding is already within us. Let us walk this path of gentleness together, for the practice is as wide as the sky and as near as our own heart.
About the Speaker: Fabio Gentile After a decade of monastic practice (2015–2025) within the Plum Village tradition founded by Zen Master Thich Nhất Hạnh, Fabiano returned to the world to share the fruits of his mindfulness. Dedicated to the art of dwelling happily in the here and now, he founded Pumua Village in Nairobi: a practice center where friends can take refuge, breathe together, and learn to embrace their challenges with the energy of peace and deep understanding.
