About the teacher: Bhikkhuni Thitacarini, born in Indonesia, is a prominent Buddhist scholar and mindfulness educator. METTA NEWS Metta Centre friends volunteered at the

METTA NEWS
Metta Centre friends volunteered at the Santi Forest Monastery's Kathina Ceremony to celebrate the end of Vassa (rainy season retreat). Since the time of the Buddha, monastics in the Theravada tradition would undertake retreat for 3 months and at the conclusion, the lay community would come together to rejoice, celebrate, and offer robes and other requisites to the monks and nuns. This tradition still continues, usually throughout the month of November.

What is a blessing?

In this highly interactive session, we discussed the Sutta, the blessing of living in Australia, and the skills we've acquired that have shaped us into who we've become. We ended the session by sharing the things in our lives that we are grateful for.
