Becoming Patient

July 30, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

| Free

The Buddha taught that the most destructive emotion we have is anger. Not only do we have the potential to hurt ourselves, but under the blinding influence of anger, we can bring suffering onto others as well. Patience is the direct antidote to anger and therefore one of the first steps we can take towards finding happiness, and the development of compassion towards others. Patience is the third, of the six perfections that a Bodhisattva must practice in order to achieve enlightenment; patience creates the karmic cause for us to have a pleasing appearance. The first step on any spiritual path is knowing what we should adopt and what we should abandon; by understanding the advantages of patience and the disadvantages of anger, we would be developing strong renunciation for one of the three main causes of Samsara. The only thing we have to lose are the karmic chains that bind us. Do you have the patience to set yourself free?

Join us in a practical two-week course with Robert Tomic to learn how to be free of anger, impatience and guilt.

Robert Tomic has been practising Tibetan Buddhism for the past 25 years, wherein he has received teachings and empowerments from all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism, both in Australia and overseas. For 10 years Robert has taught (introductory level) Tibetan Buddhism to any and all, whether in people’s homes or in a classroom setting, who are genuinely interested to learn and apply the unique fundamental steps that can undo the confusion of living in a seemingly contradictory world. Tibetan Buddhism, even in its simplest form, has the ability to change us into pro-active participants who clearly understand how precious this life is and how fulfilling it can become.
