January 28, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Australia has seen an unprecedented bushfire season and there is much discussion about what actions can be taken for our collective future. Metta Centre will therefore host two hands-on environmental action sessions. There is much to do and now is the time like never before. There is much that can be done by us individually and as a community. As we see that we are connected to both the problems and the solutions we can work on actions that shift our ways of living in a meaningful way. For instance, tips to improve home energy efficiency; doing the project drawdown 21 day eco challenge; to reduce plastic usage we can make beeswax wrap to replace cling wrap; turning your internet searches to planting trees; finding and supporting companies that are eco-friendly and so much more. Along the way we will draw on the spiritual skills of Buddhism that will help us to sustain our efforts and understand how to bring our spiritual practice into the environmental action. In one of our sessions we will be making bees wax wrap that participants may take home with them. To cover the cost of the materials and support the Metta Centre, we would be grateful for participants to make a suggested donation of $20.
